What is the Gender Reveal Party?
The party consists of gathering your family and friends, in order to reveal the sex of the baby. Two types of parties can be organised, one in which the parents do not know the gender of the baby and for which the doctor gives the results of the ultrasound to a close relative, or one in which the parents know the gender and the guests do not.
Is a Gender Reveal the same as a Baby Shower?
They are similar parties, but they are not exactly the same. Depending on whether or not the parents know the sex of the baby, it is possible to either only celebrate the Baby Shower or celebrate both.
If parents do not want to know the gender of the baby beforehand, and instead want to announce it to the whole world at the same moment as they find out, that is when the Gender Reveal party is usually held. In this case, an option is that after discovering the sex of the baby, a Baby Shower is held, in which the guests give gifts to the parents.
If, on the other hand, the parents or someone close to the parents, who is usually the godfather, already know the sex of the baby, they will directly celebrate a Baby Shower. Everything will be decorated with balloons of the colour of the baby's gender, usually blue balloons for boys and pink balloons for girls.
